BlackBerry Outage Spreads to U.S. & Canada

RIM’s BlackBerry is experiencing its third day of an outage in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and parts of South America — and now it has started affecting users in the U.S. and Canada, too.
A core switch failure in RIM’s infrastructure is to blame, but solving the problem seems to be more complex than just firing up a backup version of a database. BlackBerry users affected by the outage are unable to send and receive email or use BBM and other data services.
Speaking at the BlackBerry Innovation Forum in London Wednesday, RIM’s UK and Ireland managing director Stephen Bates said, “We thought we had found the problem but had not. We are working around the clock to get to the bottom of the problem.”
He also gave a public apology to all BlackBerry customers, but for many users it will be too little, too late.
On Monday, when the outage started, the BlackBerry Twitter account tweeted: “Some users in EMEA are experiencing issues. We’re investigating, and we apologise for any inconvenience.” A tweet from Tuesday said: “Message delays were caused by a core switch failure in RIM’s infrastructure. Now being resolved. Sorry for inconvenience.”
The issues, however, have not been resolved. In fact, things are getting worse, as the outage spreads to Canada and elsewhere in the Americas. We’ve seen reports on Twitter that it’s happening in parts of the U.S. and the Caribbean.
While the complaints about BlackBerry are mounting on Twitter and other networks, one of RIM’s biggest competitors, Apple, is due to release iOS 5, iCloud and a new version of Mac OS X Lion later Wednesday, and the iPhone 4S hits stores Friday.
Have you been affected by the outage? Share your experiences in the comments.

Tiwa Savage likes to perform with no shoes...

The girl of the moment, Tiwa Savage, likes to perform barefooted on stage...sometimes. Once she gets into the music, the shoes go off. Here's my girl at last week's Rhythm Unplugged concert in Abuja...love the outfit!

Quote of the day

Someone wrote:
90% of single people are single out of choice!
Do you agree with this statement?

Am I single out of choice? Hell no! I'm single because other than a 20-something-year-old telling me I need therapy, I can't find eligible men. And I don't want to hear 'you are too picky', what's wrong with being picky? What's wrong with wanting a man in his 30's, who has a great job, his own house, drives a range rover, with a body like Jason Momoa's, voice like Vin Diesel's, face like Brad Pitt, cool and calm like George Clooney. Will not cheat, does not lie, is sincere, God-fearing, generous, charming, sweet, sensitive, warm, clever, kind, funny, tall, athletic, very romantic and gbó gbóe and gbó gbóé. What is wrong with that mehn, what? :-)

Anyway, back to the question; do you agree that 90% of single people are single out of choice?

Did Beyonce's stomach really fold or was it a trick of fabric and light?

I wasn't going to put this on my blog, but let me do so and hear what you guys think. I don't know what blogger Sandra Rose has against Beyonce but here's what she wrote on her blog:
Tweets are talking about Beyoncé’s prosthetic baby bump on last night’s Sunday Night HD. At first we couldn’t believe that she would actually wear her prosthetic on a show with HD — high definition — in the show’s title. But you know what they say about narcissists who think they are smarter than everyone else around them.
So there was Bey sitting down on the set — and there was her prosthetic baby bump, folding, crumpling and collapsing in full, vibrant high definition!
Luckily, the prosthetic is that memory foam type that bounced right back into shape. Rumor has it that Beyoncé is wearing a fake prosthetic while her unknown surrogate carries her baby to term.
Beyonce has no reason to fake a pregnancy, but what you think happened here? Did her stomach really fold in half as she sat down for the interview or was it a trick of fabric and light? Meanwhile she's said she's due in February.

Egypt Opt Out Of Hosting 2012 Olympic Qualifiers

Egypt will not be staging the 2012 Olympics African qualifying tournament next month due to security reasons, FA spokesman Azmi Megahed has confirmed.

“Authorities in Egypt requested not to stage the tournament on home soil because it is equivalent to the timing of the parliamentary elections, which require massive security,” Megahed told an Egyptian football website.

The tournament, including eight teams, was supposed to be staged from the 26th of November to the 10th of December, with three teams qualifying for the London finals.
Egypt were drawn in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Gabon and South Africa.
A replacement host has yet to be announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Osaze Out Of Ghana Game, Set For Surgery

Osaze Odemwingie left Nigeria's De Vere Village Hotel in Watford on Monday night to return to Birmingham. The forward has been struggling with an ankle injury over the last two months, and has now decided to go for surgery.Odemwingie spoke with the West Brom doctors and was examined by the Nigeria medical team and an agreement was reached for him to have surgery immediately on his ankle.
The operation has been scheduled for Wednesday in Amsterdam, and the striker will fly out on Wednesday morning.

"It is his career on the line, and it is very important for us to put the health and welfare of our players first above everything else," Nigeria coach Samson Siasia said. "Osaze has been playing with painkillers and after speaking with the doctor, we all agreed that he should have his surgery as soon as possible."

SIASIA DARES NFF: SACK ME IF YOU WANT!

Eagles Coach Admits He And His Players Deserve Insults From Nigerians
Underfire Super Eagles boss, Samson Siasia has told the Nigeria Football Federation he is not scared of losing his job.The Nigeria national team gaffer was issued an administrative quey by the NFF on Monday but the former Nigeria internationalsays he is prepared for the worst.

"It is not in my hands now. Whatever the NFF decide, we will accept. If they want us to stay, we will carry on rebuilding this team in the right way.
"If they don't, we will say thank you and move on. That is the way football works."

The Nigeria team face arch rivals Ghana on Tuesday in London, and Siasia says an immediate response is imperative.

"We have to put what happened behind us. There is nothing we can do about it. We just have to learn from our mistakes and make sure we play a good game and win against Ghana."

Meanwhile Siasia says his team deserve all the insults thrown their way by fans after failing to qualify for next year's African Nations Cup.The Super Eagles gave up a late goal to draw 2-2 with Guinea and miss out on qualification, with fan abuse trailing them since.
Siasia says the team deserve it.

"We deserve all the insults we are getting. In the end, we failed to qualify and that hurt the fans, so they have a right to be angry," Siasia said.
"We are also hurt, because as much as the fans wanted to see us at the Nations Cup, it pains us more than it pains them.
"We have young players who were looking forward to their first Nations Cup. We have experienced ones who wanted to return there to challenge again.
"We have found it hard to sleep because everyone is thinking about what happened."But Siasia says the team can take comfort from the progress that has been made in a short time.
"In the few months we have been here, the team has grown younger, we are tactically stronger, we play the ball quicker than before, we create more than 7 chances in every game and we have not failed to score more than two goals. Except for the friendly against Argentina.
"So this team is doing well. It was just a communication problem at the end.

We thought we were going through at 2-1, but we were not sure if that was enough, and we didn't want to take  any chances that’s why we were pushing. Otherwise, we could have held on at 2-1."

Rihanna Shows Loyalty to her Fans

Rihanna performed a sold-outshow in front of 20,000 people last night at the O2 Arena in London.
And instead of taking her tour bus, limousine or SUV, Rih Rih decided to try & blend in with the regular folks & ride the train to her show. The subway was crowded and she chatted & posed for pictures with a few fans who was also on their way to the concert.
A spokesperson for London’s transportation stated that they were completely surprised when the pop princess showed up unannounced, and no special arrangements had been made.
And this right here is exactly why I love me some Rihanna, because she does exactly what she wants to do & not what everyone expects her to do….

Luv it!!!!!
